Inversion Essentials: Foundations
– A Beginner Friendly Workshop on Arm Balances & Inversions
Curious about going upside down, but not sure where to start?
This workshop is a gentle introduction to arm balances and inversions, designed to help
you build confidence step by step.
It’s not about forcing shapes or getting everything “right”.
It’s about learning how to understand your body, move with awareness, and explore
something new in a supportive space.
What to Expect
We’ll move at a steady, accessible pace with time to pause, ask questions, and explore.
There will be space to:
Try things for the first time
Repeat and understand the basics
Rest when needed
You are encouraged to move in a way that feels right for you.
Together we’ll work with the foundations of:
• Bakasana
• Pincha Mayurasana
• Handstands
You’ll be guided through:
• Gentle wrist and shoulder preparation
• Basic strength and core awareness
• How to shift weight into your hands safely
• Beginner-friendly drills and variations
• Using the wall for support
• Building confidence with being upside down
Who This Is For:
This workshop is open to anyone who is curious about inversions.
You don’t need to have a handstand or arm balance practice —
just a willingness to explore and try something new.
Why Practice Inversions?
Going upside down can feel unfamiliar at first,
but it can also be playful, empowering, and surprisingly grounding.
It invites a shift in perspective — both physically and mentally.
You don’t have to be strong or experienced to begin.
You just have to start somewhere.
